Mary A. Miller, 100, passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 3, at Fillmore Pond in old Bennington. She was the wife of the late Joseph E. Miller who died in 1987. Mary formerly resided in North Hoosick, New York for over 65 years.
Mary was born on November 11, 1916, in Hoosick Falls, New York, daughter of the late Guy and Augusta (Albergine) Govone. She was educated at schools in Hoosick Falls, was a loving homemaker all of her life, and worked during the WWII war effort, where her comradeship with the other women doing the same, bonded them for life. Mary loved and enjoyed above all her family and friends. Mary’s beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of those that survive her: Children Marilyn Miller of Newington, CT, Michael Miller (Marta) of Sacramento, CA and William Miller (Diane) of Houston, TX; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, many nieces/nephews, devoted friends, and an international fan club that enjoyed her loving nature and quick wit humor to name a couple of her attributes. Mary is predeceased by siblings Zita Motsiff, Jenny Carroll, Norma Shanahan and Irving Govone.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday January 7, at 12pm from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls, where Mary was a communicant. Burial will follow the mass at St. Mary's Cemetery in Hoosick Falls.
