Jim was born on February 20, 1937, in Hoosick Falls, son of the late Edward and Anna (Smith) Moore. He was a proud graduate of St. Mary’s Academy. He was a great baseball pitcher for St. Mary’s and played minor league baseball for the Washington Senators from 1956 – 1957. Jim was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church (Hoosick Falls) and Our Lady of Lourdes Church (Wellfleet, MA).

Jim loved baseball and especially the Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers and he was extremely happy to see “his” Dodgers win the World Series in 2020. Jim was an avid collector of sports and entertainment memorabilia, loved playing boardgames with his grandchildren, enjoyed beach walks on Coast Guard Beach in Eastham, ice cream, “pizza Fridays”, and grilling his famous chicken wings for family and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Anna (Smith) Moore, his sister Ann Sawyer, and his three brothers, Joe, John, and Tommy.

Survivors other than his loving wife June include their children Jim (and wife Didi) Moore, Suzanne Moore, and Adam (and wife Kendra) Moore. Pop (as called by his grandchildren) is also survived by 11 grandchildren who he deeply loved (Jimmy, Josh, Jeffrey, Troy, Lauren, Lyndsey, Joey, Jonathan, Andrew, Brian and Olivia), 4 great grandchildren (Maeve, Bryce, Vienna and Jase) and many nieces and nephews.

Jim’s family would like to thank all of the staff at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, MA for their wonderful care, with special thanks to Dr. Grimaldi, Dr. Champagne, Dr. Callanan, and his nurses for their compassion and consideration at this difficult time.
