Obituary for Anne Marie Fleming

Anne Marie Fleming, 87, passed away at the Danforth Adult Care Center on Sunday, February 12th with her daughters by her side.  Anne was born in Hoosick Falls, NY on September 25, 1935, daughter of the late Carroll and Ruth Griffin Rancourt.  She was a graduate of St Mary’s Academy and Albany Business College.  For many years, Anne and her husband Ken were owners and proprietors of Uncle Ken’s Tavern. She was later employed by the State of Vermont, until she retired in 2002.

Anne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt. She was affectionately known as Mimi by the many people who knew and loved her. Anne loved to travel, to play bingo, to attend her grandchildren’s sporting events, and to spend time with her family and friends.  Anne was a longtime member of the Immaculate Conception Church. 

Anne was pre-deceased by her husband Kenneth Fleming, son Kenneth Fleming Jr, daughter Kathy Fleming and her dear sister Joan McMartin.  Anne is survived by daughters Linda Fleming of Myrtle Beach, SC  and Patty Fleming of Hoosick Falls, grandchildren Michelle Wood and her husband George of Myrtle Beach, SC,  Jill Bamrick and her husband Todd of Hoosick Falls, NY, Brady (Bri) Sausville of Balston Lake, 1stLt Jarred Sausville(USMC) and his wife Emily of Richland NC, and Shane Spendiff who is currently at USMC boot camp at Paris Island, SC. Anne is also survived by great grandchildren Daniel and Shay Wood, and Jack Kenneth Bamrick, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours for Anne will be held Thursday February 16 at the MAHAR FUNERAL HOME in Hoosick Falls, N.Y. from 4 to 7 p.m.  A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday February 17 at 11 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls, NY.  Burial will follow immediately at St Mary’s Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Danforth Adult Care Center where Anne resided for the past 3 years. Words cannot express how grateful we are for the compassionate care and kindness shown to us and to Mimi thru this difficult time.
