Obituary for David James Hanselman

David James Hanselman passed away early Thursday morning, October 27, 2022, at the age of 74, surrounded by his loving family at his home on Willow Street.

He was born in Cambridge, NY on May 7, 1948, and was the son of the late Henry and Lois (Townsend) Hanselman.  David received his education at Hoosick Falls Central School, graduating class of 1967.  He worked in his early years at Hoosick Falls Central School as a custodian, and later many years at Oak Mitsui.  You may have also heard a familiar voice over your scanners and pagers as dispatcher 89 or saw him wearing many hats within his life membership with the Hoosick Falls Fire Department.  David enjoyed his time with his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, going to BINGO, puzzles and family gatherings. He was also a member of the Auxiliary Police and the American House Derby club.

Survivors include his loving wife of fifty years Carol (Parker) Hanselman, his children Charity (Wayne) King, Monica (Dan) Periard, Gretchen (Kenny) Yonconish, Jessica Aldrich and Brett (Toni) Hanselman, his grandchildren Dana, Dustin, Ethan, Colin, Parker, Zymera, and Claire, his great grandchildren Marxus, Xander, Ruby, and Finley, his mother-in-law Georgianna, brother Joseph, sisters Regina, Marie, Shirley and many nieces and nephews.  David is predeceased by his sister JoAnn, brother John, sister-in-law Elaine and father-in-law Harold.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday November 2nd at 11:00 am, from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY.  Relatives and friends may call at the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street, Hoosick Falls on Tuesday November 1st, from 4:00-7:00 pm.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Karen & Molly McGovern Memorial Fund through the funeral home.
