Margaret “Peggy” M. (Bass) Cottrell, 64, passed away Sunday, October 16, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, Ny, surrounded by her family. Peggy was the wife of Robert Cottrell, they resided on Fox Hollow Road in Petersburgh, NY.

Peggy was born on September 20, 1958, in Cambridge, NY, daughter of Thomas and Patricia (Liporace) Bass. Peggy was a real estate agent and worked for various financial institutions throughout her life. Peggy’s four grandbabies were her greatest joy in life. She enjoyed traveling with her friends and family. Peggy was a very giving and loving person, her laugh will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband Robert Cottrell, two daughters, Tricia Weill, Sunderland, VT, Betsy Dunham, Gulf Breeze, FL, son Rob Cottrell Jr., Petersburgh, NY, her parents Thomas and Patricia Bass, sisters Cathy Klebbe and Sharon Bass, brother Mark Bass, four grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister Sandra Carter.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 21 at 10:00 am at the Mahar Funeral home, 43 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, NY. Burial will follow the service at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 4:00-7:00 pm.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sandra Bass Carter Memorial Nursing Scholarship fund, through the funeral home.
