Obituary for Marilyn G. Leeseman

Marilyn G. Leeseman passed away on Sunday, September 11th at the Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation. She was the wife of the late Charles F. Leeseman and formerly resided on Rensselaer Street in Hoosick Falls.

Marilyn was born on January 19, 1935, in Hoosick Falls daughter of the late John and Anna (Arnold) Griffin. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Hoosick Falls and Albany Business College where she studied Business. Marilyn retired from Dodge Industries/Oak Mitsui in Hoosick Falls, where she had a career in the Accounting department. She was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Church, where she served as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister and also brought the Eucharist to homebound. Marilyn was a proud member of the Catholic Daughters and enjoyed marching in Hoosick Falls parades with her Catholic Daughter sisters, especially her friend and sister-in-law Florence Liporace. Marilyn had fun with the Red Hatters, too.

Marilyn adored her family, especially her grandchildren, and played an active role in their lives as they grew up. She loved to bake with them, read to them, play with them: just be with them. She was married to her husband Chuck for 64 years and they were quite a team.

Survivors include her daughter Anne (Tim) Samson, son Charles (Beth) Leeseman, grandchildren Carl (Alisha) Samson, Eric (Hailea) Samson, Sarah (Tevell) Brown, Vanessa (David) Folman, and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Robert (Anne) Griffin. She was predeceased by a brother John Griffin.

The family would like to extend gratitude to the loving staff at the Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation who cared for Marilyn to the end of her life. Thanks also to the Community Hospice staff who helped make the last few months of her life comfortable.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday September 19th, at 11:00 am from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY.
