Mary (Zucconi) Remancus of Hoosick Falls, NY peacefully passed away on July 31, 2022. Mary was born in Manhattan, NY to the late Paul and Albina Zucconi. She was married to Stanley A. Remancus for 44 years before he passed away in 2003. They were married at St. Bridget’s Church in Copake Falls, NY in 1959.

Mary was a graduate of the Roeliff Jansen High School in Hillsdale, NY and The Child Hospital of Nursing in Albany, NY. Mary worked as a nurse at several hospitals in the area including St. Peter’s Hospital and the Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge, NY. She was a member of the Hoosick Falls Health Auxiliary, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the Golden Girls Book Club and the Grange. Mary enjoyed traveling and never passed up a Senior Center bus trip. She traveled to Israel, Ireland, England, Germany, Lithuania and visited her aunts and cousins in Italy. Mary also enjoyed crafting and especially knitting. Most of her nieces and nephews and many children from Hoosick Falls were warmed by the baby sweaters that were her specialty. Mary did volunteer work into her 80s including at the local food bank and as a poll worker.

Mary is survived by her daughter Sandra Remancus (Brandt Witte) of University Park, MD, her son Stanley (Kelly) Remancus of Albany, her grandchildren Taylor Mary, Coleman and Mantas, a sister Dina Zucconi Ariemma of Watervliet and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband Stanley, her sister Rita Doodian, her brother-in-law Franco Ariemma and her nephew Paul Doodian.

A viewing will take place at the Mahar Funeral Home in Hoosick Falls on Sunday August 7th from 5:00-7:00 PM. The funeral will take place at the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls on Monday August 8th at 10:00 AM.

Donations in Mary’s memory can be made to the Cheney Library in Hoosick Falls, NY, a place she loved and where she had many friends.
