Obituary for Marion Joy Wescott

Marion Joy Wescott, 76, entered into her eternal rest on June 12, 2022 at the Shaker Place Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Albany NY. Marion was born in Hoosick Falls NY on July 23 1945 to Alexander and Thelma (Elliott) Metcalfe. Marion was a member of the St Joseph's Church in Greenwich NY where she was involved in the Saint Martin DePorres Society. Marion previously attended Greater Grace Church of Malta NY for over 10 years where she served in the cleaning committee. Marion retired from Espey Manufacturing in Saratoga Springs after 14 years of employment. She was previously employed by Tansitor Electronics in Bennington VT for 22 years. Marion very much enjoyed spending time among family and friends. She loved to play cards, crochet, going to Bingo as well as the casino, travelling, and making various crafts. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining family as well as friends.

She is survived by her daughter Tammy Wescott of Schenectady NY, her sons John (Emma) Wescott of Greenwich NY, Gordon Wescott of Latham NY, and Robert (Lorena) Wescott of Cambridge NY as well as 3 stepchildren Lee (Tina) Barney, Lisa Barney and Nelson Barney Jr of Massachusetts. She is survived by 2 sisters Charlotte Redden of Hoosick Falls NY, Alberta Tefft of Saratoga Springs NY and 3 brothers, Robert (Nancy)  Metcalfe of Mechanicville NY and Gordon (Ruth) Metcalfe of Hoosick Falls NY, her grandchildren Jessica, Terrance and Kaitlin Foster, Robert James Wescott, Adrian Wescott and Christopher Vanderwerker as well as Lia, Katrina and Emily Barney and 11 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by 3 sisters Patricia Colegrove, Barbara Kramer, and Thelma Tifft as well as 3 brothers Willard, Charles and Ralph Metcalfe.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 18 at 11am at St Joseph's Church by Rev Martin Fisher at 35 Hill St Greenwich NY. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10am until the beginning of service at 11am. There will be a private burial on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America to  Mahar Funeral Home at 43 Main St Hoosick Falls NY as well as flowers.
