Obituary for Joseph P. Gorman

Joseph P. Gorman, 67, passed away on Sunday April 17th, at his home surrounded by his family. He resided on Notch Lane with his wife Regina (Granger) Gorman.

Joe was born on March 12, 1955, in Troy, NY, son of the late John and Marion (Bartoski) Gorman Sr. He graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Hoosick Falls and was employed at Energizer in Bennington, Vermont, until retirement. Joe was an avid outdoors man enjoying hunting and fishing. He also liked to attend Irish Festivals and clam steams.

Survivors other than his wife Regina include his two sons Joe, and Matthew Gorman (Carolina Sarmento), step-children Robert (Cathy) Brown and Tasha (Reid) Bailey, grandson Samuel Bailey, siblings Sister Colleen Gorman (Sharon McComber), John P. Gorman Jr. (Peg), Marion “Betty” Ortolani (Rob Stryker), Francis Gorman (Karen), Kevin Gorman (Melissa) Ann Marie Gates (Larry), Laurie Bianca (Tony) also several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his parents, brother Richard and sister Bonnie J. MacDougall.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Karen & Molly McGovern Memorial Fund through the funeral home.

Joe's family would like to thank Washington County/Saratoga Hospice, especially his caregivers Karen, Tracy, Stephanie and Emily for all the care and love they gave to Joe and his family.
