David A. Okerman, 73, passed away on Friday March 11th, at his residence on River Road in Hoosick Falls. He was born on November 10, 1948 in Windham, CT, son of the late Reino ( Raymond) and Margaret (Montgomery) Okerman.

David graduated from Hoosick Falls Central School, class of 1966. While attending HFCS he lettered in both football and basketball. He furthered his education attending Gunstock Jr. College in NH, UNC Ashville, HVCC and received a degree in history from North Adams State. He was an avid history buff and visited many of the major Civil War Battle sites with his friends Raymond LaFlamme, Hal Cottrell and John Nealon. He was a former member of the Hoosick Falls National Guard and an avid fan of the NY Mets and Sienna Basketball. He was a self employed painting contractor for much of his adult life.

He is survived by his caregiver of fifteen years Phyllis Harrington, brother Richard (Linda) Okerman, several nieces, nephews and his cat “Kitty”.
