William F. McGovern, 85, passed away on Friday February 25th, at the Collar City Rehabilitation in Schaghticoke, NY. He was the husband of the late Mary Clare who passed in 2014 .

William was born on May 25, 1936, in New York City, son of the late Frank and Ruth (Coleman) McGovern. Bill graduated from Regis High School class of 1954 and received his Bachelor's Degree from Boston College in 1958 and his Master's Degree from C.W. Post College in 1971. He was employed by New York State in the Office of Children & Family Services for twenty-seven years. Bill liked to read and was a Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants fan.

Survivors include his sons James (Cathy) McGovern of Latham, NY, John (Meagan) McGovern of Rexford, NY, Daniel McGovern of Albany, NY, Lawrence (Danielle) McGovern of Murphy, NC and Edward McGovern of Schenectady, NY, also four grandchildren Riley, Declan and Jacob McGovern also Anthony Bucci.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday March 4th at 10:00 am from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls.
