Obituary for Gordon A. Acker
Gordon E. Acker, 81, passed away on Sunday January 30th at his residence. He was born on May 18, 1940, in Worcester, Massachusetts son of the late Earle and Agnes (Winquist) Acker.
Gordon attended school in Worcester and served in the Marine Corps from 1959-1963. He was employed at Waste Management in Millbury, MA, as a scale house operator. Gordon was a member of the Babcock Lake Estates and the Property Association. He enjoyed playing cards, guitar, having a good time with family and friends. Gordon was a avid Boston Red Sox fan and a season ticket holder.
Survivors include his sons Gordon Acker, Shawn Acker, Keith Acker and Kevin (Nicole) Acker all of Massachusetts, brother Roger Acker of Maine, eight grandchildren, a great grandchild, friends Todd, Shannon, Hunter and Cameron Ewing, Phil and Diane Rosler along with many other friends and his Marine Corp brothers. Gordon was predeceased by a son Shane Acker.
Services will be Tuesday February 8th at 1:00 pm, at the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 – 1:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Second Chance Animal Shelter through the funeral home.
