Obituary for Robert J. O'Dell
Robert J. O'Dell, 77, passed away on Monday December 20th at the Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls. He was the husband of Mary (Trombley) O'Dell who passed on September 24, 2009.
Robert was born on October 11, 1944, in Hoosick Falls son of the late Kenneth and Ruth (Brownell) O'Dell. He attended schools in Hoosick Falls. Robert served in the United States Navy, during the Vietnam Era and received the Vietnam Service Medal and the National Defense Medal. Robert was employed at Oak-Mitsui in Hoosick Falls for several years. He enjoyed the outdoors, tinkering and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his children Robert J. O'Dell Jr., Kenneth O'Dell and Brenda (Richard) Russell, grandchildren Kirsten Russell, Richard Russell Jr., Bradley O'Dell, Jordan O'Dell, great granddaughter Julie Dupont, brother Richard O'Dell, sister-in-law Arlene Gerard, also several nieces and nephews. Robert is predeceased by three sisters Betty Peret, Mary Jane O'Dell and Barbara Zagorski and two brothers John and William O'Dell.
Funeral services will be held on December 29th, at 11:00 am, from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. Burial with Military Honors will follow the service at Maple Grove Cemetery, Hoosick Falls. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the start of the service.
