Obituary for Carolyn Ruth Miner (Cone)

Carolyn Ruth (Cone) Miner, 84, was born on October 3, 1937 in Utica, NY and died peacefully on December 5th 2021 in Hoosick Falls, NY after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was the daughter of Charles Roswell Cone and Helen May Peterson of Eagle Bridge, NY. She was predeceased by her husband Donald Miner, as well as her siblings Mary, Gertrude, Charles and Ronald Cone. She is survived by her children Penny (Craig) Lapham, Douglas Miner, Donald Miner, Jr. and Marcie (Michael) Suarez. She is also survived by her grandchildren Nichole (Sean) Warner, Joseph Rogers, Juliana Suarez and Charlie Suarez. She was also gifted with three great grandchildren Noah, Sadie and Samantha Warner, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She started her life by winning the cutest baby contest in Utica, NY in 1937 and continued her life to get married and raise a family. She was a parish member of the Immaculate Conception Church. She worked at Hoosick Falls Central School in the cafeteria until her retirement.

She was a great person and a good friend to all who knew her. She loved baking, cooking, reading, gardening, camping and boating. She also enjoyed walking with her daily dog walks. She did not get to enjoy her retirement for very long, as she developed Alzheimer’s at a young age. The family would like to thank the great care that Carolyn received at The Center for Nursing and Rehabilitative Care in Hoosick Falls.

A Memorial Service and burial will be held in the Spring of 2022 at the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, NY. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home at that time to celebrate her life.
