Obituary for Beverly A. "Bev" Gates
Beverly A. “Bev” Gates, 75, passed away on Saturday September 25th, at the Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY. She resided with her husband Walter L. Gates Sr., on NY 22 in the Town of Hoosick.
Bev was born on April 23, 1946, in Hoosick Falls, daughter of the late Francis and Virginia (Stowell) Granger. She graduated from High School in Hoosick Falls and was formerly employed at Oak/Allied Signal in Hoosick Falls. Bev was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Eagles both in Hoosick Falls. She enjoyed camping, bingo and spending time with her family.
Survivors other than her husband Walter Sr., include their children Scott (Merry) Gates of Pittstown, NY, Walter L. (Beverly) Gates of Cambridge, NY, Michelle (JoAnn) Gates of Carmel, NY, Lynn (Cliff) Gates of Bennington, VT and Heather (Rob) Gates of Clearwater, FL, ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, brothers Donald and Edward Granger both of Hoosick Falls, NY. Bev was predeceased by a son Keith Gates and her brother Charles Stowell.
Funeral services will be Friday October 1st, at 6:00 pm from the First Baptist Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Friday from 4:00 pm until the start of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Karen & Molly McGovern Memorial Fund through the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls who are handling the arrangements.
