Obituary for Ernest A Jennings
Ernest A. Jennings, 89, passed away on Monday July 12th, at his daughters residence, surrounded by his family, on Beckett Street in Hoosick Falls. He resided in Hudson Falls with his companion Joanne Moffitt.
He was born on June 18, 1932, in Bridgeport, CT, son of the late Charles and Vera (Brickford) Jennings. Ernie was formerly employed at Thorpe Electric in Rensselaer, NY, as a supervisor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and was a member of the Moose, Elks and Eagles. Ernie spent six months in Florida where he enjoyed golfing, playing horseshoes and BBQ.
Survivors other than his companion include his son Larry (Karen) Jennings, daughter Charlene (Michael) Tifft all of Hoosick Falls, NY, also survived by five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Ernie is predeceased by a sister Alice Cameron and two brothers Charles and Howard Jennings.
Funeral services will be held on Friday July 16th, at 1:00 pm, from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the service at Maple Grove Cemetery, Hoosick Falls.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 pm, until the start of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Town of Hoosick Little League or Rensselaer County Community Hospice through the funeral home.
