Obituary for James S. Dufty
James S. Dufty, 84, of Buskirk, NY passed away on April 3rd, at the Bennington Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Cathy (Crews) Dufty, who resides on Route 67 in Buskirk.
Jim was born on October 25, 1936, in Melrose, NY, son of the late Harold and Marion (Meeley) Dufty. He graduated from Lansingburgh High School in 1954. Jim served in the United States Marine Corp form 1954-1957. He was employed by N.Y.S. D.O.T, as a drill operator, retiring after thirty-three years. Jim was an avid songwriter and played the guitar.
Survivors other than his wife Cathy include their children Dawn Dufty of Eagle Bridge, NY, Sandra Hastings of Waterford, MI, Suzanne Schmidt of Hoosick Falls, NY, Kenneth Dufty of Buskirk, NY, Cassandra Hall of Coventry, England, Charlene Betit of Eagle Bridge, NY, Candace Reed of Petersburg, NY, also survived by nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
There will be no services. Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors through the funeral home.
