Lewis J. Alderman, 69, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 24th, at the Albany Medical Center.

Lewis was born on January 1, 1952, in Troy, NY, son of the late Robert and Dorothy (Weaver) Alderman. He graduated from Berlin Central School before the United States Marine Corp, serving from 1971-1973. Lewis was a production supervisor at the former Bennington Paper Board in Walloomsac, NY until his retirement. He was an avid hunter, trapper, fishermen and a proud member of the NRA and of the American Legion Post # 937 in Berlin. Lewis enjoyed watching football, hockey and NASCAR on television. He also enjoyed family gatherings and working in his gardens.
Survivors are his wife Carol, and their children April (Joseph) Bink of Halcottsville, NY, Thomas (Brenda) Alderman of Poestenkill, NY and William (Lisa) Alderman of Ashburn, VA, brothers Rick (Laura) Alderman, Joe (Linda) Alderman, Robert (Karen) Alderman, and his sister Darlene Shorter, grandchildren Kevin and Corey Bink, Tristen, Madelynn and Cooper Alderman, also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Denise Alderman.
Friends and family may call at the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls on Tuesday March 30th from from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm. Graveside services and burial will be held in the East Hollow Cemetery in Petersburg, NY at 1:30 pm. Contributions in memory of Lewis can be made to the American Legion Post # 937 in Berlin, NY, through the funeral home.
