Obituary for Esther M. Gates
Esther M. Gates, 94, passed away on Friday January 22nd, at the Genesis Nursing Home in Bennington, VT. She formerly resided on River Street in Hoosick Falls and was the wife of the late Joseph Gates.
Esther was born in Arlington, VT, on July 29, 1926, daughter of the late Royce and Margaret Squires. She was a homemaker all of her life.
Survivors include her children Kenneth Gates, Joann Thompson and Allan Gates, sister Hazel Harrington, brothers David and Max Squires, also survived by 11 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday January 28th, at 11:00 am, from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 am until the start of the service. Masks, social distancing and crowd limitations will be adhered to at the funeral home.
