Obituary for Joseph E. Moore

Joseph E. Moore, 90, passed away on Sunday July 12th at his residence on Wilder Avenue. He resided there with his wife of sixty-eight years Marjorie (Horton) Moore.

Joe was born on December 9, 1929, in Hoosick Falls, son of the late Edward and Ann (Smith) Moore. He was educated at schools in Hoosick Falls. Joe served in the United States Navy from 1947-1949. He was formerly employed at the Wood Flong in Hoosick Falls. Joe was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church a member of the St. Stanislaw Society and a former member of the Hoosick Falls Elks. He enjoyed going to the track, casinos, fishing, softball and bowling.

Survivors other than his wife Marjorie include their children Edward (Ann) Moore, Jim (Kathy) Moore, Rich (Cindy) Moore and Sharon Moore (late Tom), sister Ann Sawyer, brother James (June) Moore, also four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by a granddaughter Laurie Moore and two brothers Thomas and John Moore.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, July 18th at 12 (noon) pm, from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Face masks are required and social distancing will be observed. Burial will follow the mass at St. Mary's Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. There will be no calling hours.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad through the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls who are handling the arrangements.
