Obituary for Joseph R. Bettis
Joseph R. Bettis , 88, passed away on Saturday April 18, at the Samaritan Hospital in Troy New York. Joseph resided in North Hoosick, New York with his wife Elaine (Benz) Bettis.
Joseph was born on July 11, 1931, in Stockbridge, Vermont, son of the late Richard and Hazel (Griffin) Bettis. He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1950- 1954. Joseph was the owner of Furniture Transport Company for many years before working for the Hess Trucking Company.
Survivors include his wife Elaine , children Kathy Wong(Gary), Laurie Flohr(Jordan), Joe Bettis(Mary), Jim Bettis(Michele), his grandchildren, Chris Bettis(Tricia), Trisha Wright, Erin Bentley(Derek), Marissa Wong, Brandon Wong, Dalton Bettis, Devin Bettis, Taylor Flohr, Samantha Flohr and nine great grandchildren. Mr. Bettis was predeceased by a son David and a grandson Logan
The services for Mr. Bettis will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, New York. Memorial contributions can be made to Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad through the funeral home.
