Wesley Brownell, 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 17, 2018, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, surrounded by his family. He resided on Wilson Hill Road in Hoosick Falls, where he lived in the same house for 74 years.

Born February 22, 1923, on the family farm in Groveside, NY, he was the son of Elmer and Sadie (LeBarron) Brownell. In 1944 he married Helen Kyer and they enjoyed 71 years of marriage. He is predeceased by his wife, Helen Brownell; a grandson Wayne Magisano; and a daughter Gayle Magisano as well as five siblings; Paul Clark Brownell, Pauline Swart, Gordon Brownell, Irene Greene and Jessie Stuart. Survivors include his children Carl Brownell (Lorraine), Stan Brownell (Robin), and son-in-law, Joseph Magisano. Grandchildren Michael Magisano (Jason), Eric Brownell (Katie), Mark Brownell (Kim), Christy Brownell Siau (David), Matthew Brownell (Melissa), Ashley Brownell Sweet (Randall). Wesley worked in many different positions, Clifford Cottrell's saw mill, Clyde Baker farm, Stuart Brownell Hatchery, Delurey's International Dealership, plus he & Sam Scaglione ran a garage in Eagle Bridge, NY. Then in 1958 Wesley began as the bus mechanic for the Hoosick Falls School District where he worked for thirty years. He was a charter member of the West Hoosick Fire Department.

Wesley was a man of great humor and loved to make people laugh. He and his wife enjoyed many years of family get-togethers, outings, going to county fairs and dining at area restaurants. A man that will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be Thursday December 20, at 10:00 am from the First Baptist Church, 80 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. Burial will follow the service at West Hoosick Cemetery.
