William E. Green passed away on Saturday August 11th at his residence on Route 67 in North Hoosick, after a long illness. He was born on September 21, 1940, in Hoosick Falls, NY, son of the late James and Eleanor (Lamar) Green.

Bill graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Hoosick Falls, Maria College in Albany and Southern Vermont College in Bennington, Vermont ,Cum Laude, with a B.S. in Human Services. He had resided in Boston, MA for several years until moving back to the area. Bill was employed and retired from the Rensselaer County Social Services in Troy, NY.

Survivors include his sisters Elizabeth and Barbara Green both of Bennington, VT, also several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two sisters Eleanor Fairbanks and Catherine Steele, and four brothers John, James, George and Daniel Green.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday August 17, at 12 (noon) from the First United Presbyterian Church, Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the mass at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Cambridge, NY.

Relatives and friends may call at the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls on Friday from 10:00 – 11:30 am. Memorial contributions may be made to the Second Chance Animal Shelter through the funeral home.
