Obituary for John J. McLucas

John J.  McLucas
John J. McLucas, 89, passed away on Monday June 11 at the Albany Medical Center in Albany,NY. He and his wife Patricia (Cahalan) resided on Abbott Street in Hoosick Falls, NY.

John was born on September 23, 1928 the son of the late Lucy(Elliot) and James C. McLucas.He was a wonderful mentor to his family, friends and strangers, introducing them to the great outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was a naturalist and conservationist and he was able to identiy all Flora and Fauna types. He was a proprietor of Jack's Texaco in North Hoosick, NY for many years. He later worked as a Financial Advisor for Investors Deversified Services, becoming a district manager.In his retirement Jack provided services to the poor and disadvantaged in several different communities, in doing so he displayed a sense of Christian service and mercy for over 20 years.

Survivors include his beloved wife Patricia(Cahalan)McLucas, his children Kevin McLucas, Buskirk, NY, Brian J. McLucas(Nancy, Greenwich, NY, Heather Harris, Georgia,a loving Sister Helen Foss, Greenwich, NY,a very special nephew Harold McClellan(Linda) of Hoosick Falls, Special cousin Jim Elliot(Gloria), Texas, sister in law Gloria Cahalan, Monticello, NY a loving niece Tricia as well as many Grandchildren, Geat grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jack was predeceased by a brother Harold J. McLucas, sister Gladys Marie McLucas and a brother in law Peter H. Cahalan.

Relatives and friends may call at the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in
Hoosick Falls, NY on Thursday June 14 from 4:00- 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be held from St. Mark's Church in Hoosick Falls on Friday June 15 at 2:00 PM. The burial will follow at Maple Grove cemetery in Hoosick Falls.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center Cardiac Rehabilitation Program through the funeral home.
