Obituary for Patrick S. Flynn,

Patrick S. Flynn, 49, of Laurinburg, NC, passed away November 6th, 2017 at his home.

He was born in Bennington, VT and was part of the class of 1988 at Hoosick Falls Central School. Patrick resided in Hoosick Falls with his wife and children until 2009 when the family relocated to Laurinburg, NC. Prior to moving to North Carolina, Patrick was employed at Isola/Allied Signal and NSK/Nastech. At the time of his death Patrick was employed at Elkay in Lumberton, NC.

Patrick was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Family was always at the center of his heart. At the children matured, he enjoyed the time spent with them whether it was sitting on his deck with his daughter or rebuilding an engine with his son. His greatest joy was the time spent with his grandson. When together the two were inseparable often taking walks looking for dinosaur tracks, playing race cars or working together in the yard. Patrick's love for his family, compassion, kindheartedness and selflessness shone to all that knew him. His character and love shone brightest on the day of his death, as he perished in attempts to save the animals his wife loved so much.

Patrick is survived by his wife of 24 years, Lera (Babcock) Flynn, his two daughters Christina Wendel of Hoosick Falls, NY and Kiera Flynn of Laurinburg, NC, his son Sean Flynn of Laurinburg and his beloved grandson M. Blake Mckenzie, adoringly known as “Boo”. He is also survived by his four sisters Beth (Rick) Ferrannini, Eileen (Patrick) Bakaitis, Karen (Bob) Elwell, and Andrea (Peter) White, his parents-in-law Thomas and Elaine Babcock and two sisters-in-law Jennifer (Greg) Perkins and Megan (Neal) Turner. In addition, Patrick leaves many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Patrick was predeceased by his parents Edward and Beverly (Barnes) Flynn.
