Obituary for Kathryn C. "Kay" Lanoue

Kathryn C. “Kay” Lanoue, 73, passed away on Sunday October 8th at her residence on Beckett Street surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Philip Lanoue Jr., who died several years ago.

Kay was born in Cambridge, New York on October 18, 1943, daughter of the late Vincent and Anna (Williams) Burns. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Hoosick Falls. Kay was employed by Central Vermont Public Services as a Administrative Assistent and the Town of Hoosick Housing Authority for ten years. She enjoyed going out to lunch and shopping with family and friends. Kay will be remembered as a loving Mother and Grandmother.

Survivors include her son Philip (Deanne) Lanoue III, of Troy, NY, sisters Ann McCormick and Joan James both of Hoosick Falls, NY , grandchildren Philip (Nikki) Lanoue IV of Schuylerville, NY, Patrick (Lauren France) Lanoue , Jessica (Robert Garner) Lanoue and Samantha Lanoue all of Troy, NY , three great grandchildren, Philip and Julianna Lanoue , Jackson Garner also good friend Jane Clark of Hoosick Falls, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday October 13, at noon from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the mass at St. Mary's Cemetery in Hoosick Falls.

Relatives and friends may call at the church on Friday from 11:00 am until the start of the mass. Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Rensselaer County Community Hospice or the American Breast Cancer Society through the funeral home.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Resta of NY Oncology and the Rensselaer County Community Hospice and the family caregivers especially Amy, Alecia, Kelsie, Candy and Megan who helped along the way.
