Catherine M. Monahan, 88, passed away on Sunday September 17, 2017 in Troy, NY surrounded by her loving family. She resided in Hoosick Falls and was the wife of the late James E. Monahan Sr.
Catherine was born in Easton, NY, on June 11, 1929, daughter of the late William and Ella (Donahue) Connor. She attended schools in Greenwich, NY and the College of St. Rose in Albany, NY. Catherine was employed as a Teller at Trustco Bank. She enjoyed time with her grandchildren, gardening, bird watching, her strong faith in God, and her Irish heritage. In addition she was predeceased by her brothers William, Robert, and Gerald Connor.
Survivors include her children James (Colleen) Monahan Jr. of Hoosick Falls, NY Michael (Margaret) Monahan of Schodack, NY, Kathleen (Steven) LeFave of Troy, NY and Maureen (Jack) Rogers of Wynantskill, NY, grandchildren Matthew and Kevin Monahan, Stefanie Roberts, Katelyn and Teresa Monahan, Daniel and Colin LeFave and great granddaughter Amelia Monahan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday September 22, 2017 at 10:00 am from St. Patrick's Church in Cambridge, NY. Burial will follow the mass at St. Mary's Cemetery in Hoosick Falls, NY.
Relatives and friends may call at the Mahar Funeral Home,43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY on Thursday September 21,2017 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Restoration Fund through the funeral home.
