Obituary for Veron Paul Weeden

Vernon Paul Weeden
On December 20, 2016, our Lord took a wonderful angel to be with Him. Vern passed unexpectedly at his home on Quaker Road in Pittstown at the age of 70. He was predeceased by his parents, Lorin and Dorothy (Ketcham) Weeden.
He leaves his loving, devoted wife of 43 years, Elaine (Sprague),
and two of the most Wonderful children, Kevin (Darcy Scott), Paula (Rory Day) and five of the most Special Grandchildren life could ever give (Hunter, Evan, Megan, Abigail, Emily). He is also survived by his brothers Dick Weeden, Charlie Weeden (Sharon), Wes Weeden, Bruce Weeden (Julie), his sister Laura Roberson and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
After graduating from HFCS, he worked on his family farm. He then went into the construction business for a year. In 1966 Uncle Sam called him into service. He went into the US Army for three years. After returning he worked in different factories and then back to construction. In 1976 he began his work at Oak Mitsui in Hoosick Falls until his retirement in January 2015.
Vern’s proudest moments were the many wonderful accomplishments Kevin and Paula achieved during their high school and college years. He was most proud of the wonderful people they grew up to be. Vern loved coaching Kevin’s teams. He was so blessed to be a part of everything his children did and so proud of every moment he spent with them. Our Lord gave him a chance to recently watch his Grandson Hunter (14) and his team win the NYS Class D Football championship and for his Grandson Evan (12) and his team win the Tigers Super Bowl for two years in a row. He was so proud of Megan (9) and her ability to play so well in soccer, basketball, softball, field hockey; Abigail (6) in softball, soccer, gymnastics and dance and Emily (2) in whatever her wonderful future would hold.
His life was his family and every second he showed how Special they were to him.
He was so proud of compiling the historical data for HFCS and Cambridge and presenting special pamphlets to so many athletes that he held so dear in his heart. He was a kind, loving wonderful Husband, Father, Grandpa, In-Law, Uncle, Cousin and Friend to so many that he loved so much.
Friends and family may call at the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY on Friday, December 23, 2016 from 3:30 pm-6:00 pm with a prayer service and reception to immediately follow at the church hall. Burial will take place on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Immaculate Conception cemetery in Hoosick Falls, NY.
