Kenneth A. Burns Jr., 68, passed away on Thursday July 26th at the Samaritan Hospital in Troy, New York. He resided on Eagle Road with his wife Jo Ann (Hoteling) Burns. Ken was born on April 6, 1950 in Troy, New York, son of the late Kenneth A. and Marjorie (Bliessner) Burns Sr.. He is survived by his children Kristen Munson of Hoosick Falls and Bryan Burns of Watervliet, NY.

Ken spent most of his early life working on the family dairy farm in Hoosick Falls, NY. While working at the farm, he developed distinguishing qualities that provided the foundation for a purposeful life. Ken was caring, neighborly, and possessed an unassuming personality that allowed him to not only create conversation out of nothing, but also meaningful relationships throughout his life. He received his Associate's Degree at SUNY Cobleskill, where he met the love of his life, and then worked at Crowley Foods for many years before retiring early. Following his retirement, he continued to work as a jack-of-all trades around the Hoosick Falls area. He had a love for all animals, especially cats. Ken will be sincerely missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday July 30 at 10:00 am, from the First United Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the mass at Middleburgh Cemetery, Middleburgh, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Second Chance Animal Shelter through the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY, who are handling the arrangements.
