Cheryl Ann Kresky, 73, passed peacefully on June 22, 2018 at her residence on Main Street. She was born in Bennington, VT on December 14, 1944, the daughter of the late Thomas and Ruth (Hatch) Kresky.

Cheryl received her education at St. Mary's Academy and was a graduate of the class of 1962. After graduation, Cheryl entered the Sisters of St. Joseph's and was a proud member for 17 years. She attended the Colleges of St. Rose, Oneonta State and Manhattan. Her teaching career included St. Patrick's, St. Joseph's (Troy), St. Paul's (Norwich), and an administrator at St. Anthony's (Troy). Her remaining career was spent in the Troy City School District, from where she retired in 2008.

During her lifetime, she was well-loved and mostly remembered for the contributions she made to the children she taught. She still remained in contact with many of her previous students.

Cheryl enjoyed reading, card stamping, fine dining, her ability to entertain, dancing, and her many trips to the ocean. Cheryl was an active member at the Halfmoon Senoir Center, where she was often called the life of the party.

Cheryl leaves behind her loving companion and pet Gabriel Michael who was her source of strength, constant companion and always by her side through good times and bad. For the dedicated care and loving support Cheryl thanks her best friends; Betty Winters, Frank Novak, Ray Irick and Margaret McCune and her doctors; Phillip and Marcus Martinez, Jessica Chapman, Scott Rogge, and Todd Beyer.

At her request, services are private. In her memory, she asks be kind to those in need, send a card, make a phone call, a quick visit to the sick and lonely.
