Obituary for Carroll H. Bourn

Carroll H. Bourn, 80, passed away on Wednesday May 9, with his daughters by his side, at his residence on Lincoln Hill Road. He was the husband of the late Shirley M. (Hebert) Bourn.

Carroll was born on January 23, 1938, in Landgrove, Vermont, son of the late Burt H. and Nina (Wilder) Bourn. Carroll was a veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1955 to 1959. While serving in the Navy Carroll served on three different destroyers, USS Gwin DM-33, USS Dupont DD-941, and the USS Basilone DD-842. Carroll worked as a tool maker at Stanley Tools in Shaftsbury, Mac Molding in East Arlington and retired at age sixty-two from Eagle Bridge Machines. After retiring he ran C&S Machines Shop from his home for five years. Carroll was known to all for his kindness and sense of Humor. He enjoyed time spent with family, carpentry, bird watching and walks in the woods.

Survivors include his daughters Carol Lucier (Mark) and Meridyth Bourn, stepdaughter Carol Folgert, stepson Donald Hebert, sisters Marion Bourn, Emily Row and Patricia Leonard, brothers Roger Bourn and Millard Bourn, also survived by eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He is predeceased by three sisters and seven brothers.

Funeral services will be Tuesday May 15th, at 11:00 am, from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, New York. Burial will follow the service in Woodlands Cemetery, Cambridge, New York. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday May 14, from 3:00 – 5:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Saratoga County Community Hospice through the funeral home.
