Obituary for Charles M "Charlie" Moore

Charles M. “Charlie” Moore, 70, passed away surrounded by his family on Friday September 15, at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, New York. He resided on Johnson Hill Road in Hoosick Falls with his wife Harumi (Arai) Moore.

Charlie was born in East Greenbush, New York on April 26, 1947, son of the late George C. and Alva M. (Marshall) Moore Sr. He graduated from Columbia High School and was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam Era.

Charlie was employed at several area propane businesses including Tex Gas in New Lebanon, NY, Blue Flame Gas Company in Hoosick Falls, NY and Haskins Gas in Dorset, VT. Charlie was an avid NY Jets fan and was proud to wear their colors. He enjoyed playing golf at HFCC, where he had served as president for several years. He was a people's person always enjoying spending time with his many friends. Charlie especially enjoyed the time he spent with his family and grandson Evan.

Survivors other than his wife Harumi include their daughter Jennifer C. (Frank) Pallante of Glenmont, NY, grandson Evan Pallante, sisters Christina (Douglas) Lundy of Webster, NY, Laura (Peter) Kosakowski of Lutz, FL, brothers George C. “Kit” Moore Jr., of Troy, NY, William “Bill” (Melissa) Moore of East Greenbush, NY, along with several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday September 20, at 11:00am in the East Greenbush Cemetery on Columbia Turnpike Road in East Greenbush. Relatives and friends may call at the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY on Tuesday September 19 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Hoosick Falls Country Club or Wounded Warriors through the funeral home.
