Obituary for Gayle Brownell Magisano

Today {July 5th, 2017}, was a sad day for everyone that loved Gayle Brownell Magisano on Earth. She was born on February 1st, 1946 and has now gone home to Heaven to join God’s core of Angels’ and to reacquaint with family and friends after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Gayle always had a special love for God’s Angels so we can only imagine the joy and pleasure and honor experienced in becoming one.

Gayle will be remembered for her ability to let her friends and family confide, converse, listen, and offer advice to any and all that requested. If she was your friend, she was your friend for life… she will be greatly missed.

Gayle had many interests during her time here on Earth, her family was first, her churches (The West Hoosick Baptist Church and The First Baptist Church of Hoosick, NY) where she served many roles and wore a few hats at both churches. She enjoyed decorating our many homes, gardening (especially at the farm on Fox Hollow*), she enjoyed ceramics in West Hoosick with many great friends, silk flower arranging (with a run as a small side business, “The Unicorns Garden” for a spell) also at the farm. She spent many years bowling with Khaki and her many teammates at the Bar-B-Que Rec… so many fond memories there!! And of course, in Florida where we have been blessed with a second family from many states, where many activities and events have been had with memories which will last forever. She LOVED Florida!

She was predeceased by her our first son, Wayne (2007) and her mother, Helen Brownell (2016). She leaves behind her father, Wesley Brownell and her husband, Joe of 53 years (September 12*), and our very loving and helpful son, Michael. Her always inspiring brother (from day one!), Carl Brownell and her youngest brother, Stan Brownell. She leaves her grandson, Joshua {Josh} whom was always special to her. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephew as well as many beloved cousins (too many to name*), as well as some special non-blood relatives which she loved and cared for very much!! She also leaves her beloved Grand-Pup, Finnieus j. ( Finn*) who brought her so much joy and comfort.

I want to send special thanks out to many, Lorraine and Carl Brownell and their children, Debbie Brownell and their children, Marie and John Parker and their children, Fran and Steve Pyne and their children. Several of our close family friends… Betsey, Janet, Bernie and Ceil, Polly, Charlotte, Mary S., Mary T., Pastor Dale and Karen, Bob and Jane, Tom and Jean, Mike and Joanne, Jp and Patt, Deb Myers, Daniel and Jason for your special efforts. Many thanks to our church families and our Vantage Point (FL) family as well. Special thanks go out to Dr. Marcus Martinez, everyone at the Hoosick Falls Health Center and last but not least the Community Hospice Team, Jamie, Sandy and Marsha for your loving and compassionate service to Gayle and our family during this difficult time.

We wish to thank EVERYONE who reached out to Gayle/ Us with the many cards, phone calls, texts, Facebook encouragement and love, food, visits, flowers (she LOVED the flowers!!) and any and ALL acts of kindness shown. We are all blessed and very GRATEFUL. Gayle’s journey for the past 10 months has been rough, yet mellowed significantly by everyone’s outpouring of love and kindness.

The family has decided that there will be NO calling hours, funeral or memorial service.
