Obituary for June R Baker

Hoosick Falls, New York

June R. Baker, 85, passed away on Easter Sunday April 16 at the Center for
Nursing & Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls. She resided on Third Street and
was the wife of the late Leroy “Bill" Baker.
June was born on June 24, 1931, in Glens Falls, New York, daughter of the
late Joseph and Loretta (Maleady) Millett. She attended St. Mary's Academy
in Hoosick Falls. She was recently honored in 2016 by St. Mary's with an
honorary diploma for her years of support and dedication. June was employed
in earlier years at Karl- Lee Department Store where she made life long
friends and later as a dental assistant for Dr. Paul Bobinski where she
retired from. She was active in the community volunteering at St. Mary's
Academy, polling places during elections, Elks Lodge activities, Immaculate
Conception Church and the annual Relay for Life. She was active in the
Hedges Lake Association. Her main interest was her family. She was
dedicated to her five children, grand children and great grand children.
She was very active in her children's and grandchildren's activities to
include sports where she always cheered them on and letting the referees
know what she thought. June enjoyed playing cards with the girls, traveling
with her family, spending time at the family camp at Hedges Lake and her
spring trips to Florida in her later years. June was also dedicated to her
hometown of Hoosick Falls where she made many friends was always there to
help someone in need.

Survivors include her children Deborah Baker of Hoosick Falls, James Baker
(Kim) of Arlington, VT, Michael Baker (Eva), Paul Baker (Laura) and Lisa
Schneider (Mike) all of Hoosick Falls, her brother James Millett (Jean) of
Hoosick Falls, grandchildren Jeremy Matte (Carrianne), Joleen McKenzie
(Leon), Jena Case (Joshua), Jay Baker (Andrea) Megan Ockovic (George),
Lindsey Baker, Cody Baker (Kristi), Taylor Baker, CJ Baker, Dylan Baker,
Amanda and Joseph Baker, Alyssa and Olivia Schneider. Her great
grandchildren Baileigh Matte, Ava, Graysen, and Maddex Case, Sean and Emma
Baker, Kathryn and Gavin Ockovic, Kaleigh and Lilah Ward and Riley and
Morgan Baker. June is predeceased by a sister Mary Jane.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday April 25, at 11:00 am
from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls.
Burial will follow the mass at St. Mary's Cemetery in Hoosick Falls.
Relatives and friends may call at the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in
Hoosick Falls on Monday April 24, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. Memorial
contributions may be made to either St. Mary’s Academy of the Karen and
Molly McGovern Memorial Fund through the funeral home.
