Rita Mary Nowak, 94, passed away on Thursday July 7, at the Bennington Health & Rehab Center. She resided at the Wood Park Apartments in Hoosick Falls and was the wife of the late Thomas Nowak who died in 1963.
Rita was born on November 15, 1921, in Bennington, Vermont, daughter of the late Joseph and Lucy (Cottrell) Welsh. She graduated from Hoosick Falls High School. Rita worked at Oak Industries in production for many years. She enjoyed all her friends at Wood Park and the “Senior Card Players”
Survivors include her children Karen Marsh (Don) of East Greenbush, NY, Annette Nealon (John) and Thomas Nowak (Marla) all of Hoosick Falls, sister Alice McNeilly of Hoosick, NY, also survived by five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is predeceased by a brother Francis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday July 11, at 12 noon from the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the mass at St. Mary's Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. Relatives and friends may call at the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street, Hoosick Falls on Monday from 10:00 – 11:30 am. Memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church through the funeral home
